- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set it aside.
- Slice the French bread lengthwise and place it cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, and minced garlic. Stir until well mixed.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the bread surface, making sure it reaches the edges.
- Sprinkle mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, and Romano cheese evenly over the bread.
- Season with oregano, parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until the cheese melts completely.
- Switch the oven to broil and broil for 1–2 minutes until the top turns golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and flavor. Do not over-butter the bread, as this can make it soggy. For extra crispiness, bake directly on the oven rack for the final minute.
